She also happens to be VaniVrtti’s first weaver and the gurubari series is named after her.\u003cbr\u003eThe saree has been entered for National award this year.\u003cbr\u003eIt took more than a month for two master weavers to setup the loom for this design. A hundred Jalas are attached to the loom which are handpicked to create such an intricate design. It took the master weaver 45 days to create a piece.\u003cbr\u003eThe design is inspired by the famous Chilika lake of Odisha, hence it has been named “Incredible Chilika” The lake is the largest wintering ground for a host of migratory birds and home to a number of threatened species of plants and animals. There is a famous Devi temple named “Kalijai” on an island midst of lake Chilika.
